1. PURPOSE:
1.1. The purpose of this bulletin is to provide clarification regarding the announcement made by Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob regarding the temporary travel ban imposed by the Government of Malaysia for travellers arriving from and travelling to India.
2. IMPLEMENTATION:
2.1. The National Security Council has agreed to impose temporary restrictions for all flights departing to and arriving from India beginning 28th April 2021.
2.2. Foreign nationals embarking on a journey from any destination in India either by direct flight or transit to Malaysia are prohibited from entering the country. This ban also applies to passengers who transit in Malaysia to a third country. Kindly note that an exemption is given for Malaysian Citizens who will be required to quarantine at designated quarantine stations for 14 days.
2.3. Kindly note that airplanes with a history of travel from India within 14 days are not allowed to “Sign Off” in Malaysia unless the crew are Malaysian citizens. These individuals will be required to quarantine at designated quarantine stations for 14 days
2.4. The implementation of the entry restrictions for Indian citizens involves the following categories:
2.4.1.All long-term pass holders including International Students. An exemption is given to Permanent Residents and individuals with a Spousal Pass to Malaysian Citizens with a condition that they must obtain approval through MyTravelPass (MTP) according to the individual categories and undergo quarantine at designated quarantine stations for 14 days.
2.4.2.Business Travelers.
2.4.3.Social Visits.
2.5. Malaysian Citizens that are currently in India will be allowed to enter Malaysia and undergo quarantine at designated quarantine stations for 14 days.
2.6. All Malaysian Citizens will be blocked from traveling to India
2.7. All entry and exit approvals obtained through MyTravelPass (MTP), MyEntry or any other approvals obtained prior to this is cancelled.
