1. PURPOSE
1.1 The purpose of this bulletin is to provide an update on the media statement issued by Health Minister of Malaysia Y.B. Khairy Jamaluddin on 12th January 2022 regarding the entry procedures into Malaysia for travelers (inclusive of international students) who had been infected with COVID-19 and completed their vaccination.
1.2 The press statement mentioned that beginning 13th January 2022, the Malaysian Government will exempt the category of travelers (inclusive of international students) mentioned above from undergoing quarantine upon arrival in Malaysia.
1.3 The conditions for the exemption to undergo quarantine are as follows:
a) Completely vaccinated and the traveler must show the proof of vaccination
b) Provide proof indicating that the traveler had been infected with COVID-19 eleven (11) to sixty (60) days prior to their departure to Malaysia. The proof can be presented either in physical or digital format.
c) Travelers who have a history of being hospitalised for COVID-19 infection should submit a “Fit to Travel” letter from a medical practitioner of the hospital.
d) Travelers undergoing isolation at their own homes or hotel for COVID-19 infection but were not warded in hospitals would need to have professional RTK Ag screening two (2) days before leaving for Malaysia. Only individuals with negative results would be allowed to continue their journey.
1.4 All of the documents mentioned above must be presented to the authorities at the point of entry into Malaysia.
1.4 Kindly note that other entry requirements to enter Malaysia are still subjected to the prevailing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) set by the Government of Malaysia
