KUALA LUMPUR, 7^th APRIL 2022 – Education Malaysia Global Services’ (EMGS) Study in Malaysia Australian Student Mobility Programme, launched in Sydney on 26^th March 2022, offers Australian students the opportunity to pursue mobility programmes here while tasting the uniqueness of Malaysian life.

In collaboration with Education Malaysia Australia (EMA), EMGS is promoting its ‘Study in Malaysia’ brand and Malaysia as the education hub of choice among Australian students. The launch of the Study in Malaysia Mobility Ambassador has been officiated by the Malaysian Ambassador-Designate to Australia, H. E. Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman. Also present were Datin Maizatul Akmam Alawi (EMGS Chairman), Mr. Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin (EMGS CEO), Mrs. Kartini Tajul Urus (Acting Consul, Education Malaysia Australia (EMA)) and Prof. Dr. Yong Zulina Zubairi (Assoc. Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaya (UM) and Chairman, Committee for International Directors of Public Universities).

“It is indeed a privilege for EMGS to launch this first step in providing a platform for more strategic collaboration between participating Malaysian and Australian higher education institutions. One purpose of our collaboration is to establish a student ambassadors’ committee consisting of Malaysian students in Australia who will promote the nation’s mobility programmes,” stated Mr. Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin. “EMGS and EMA will partner with Australian alumni ambassadors to promote the benefits of studying in Malaysia and to support future mobility participants across Australia”.

Event highlights include the handover of the Study in Malaysia Ambassador kit to New Colombo Plan (NCP) Alumni, the Malaysian Students’ Council of Australia (MASCA) and Malaysia Hall Residents Club Sydney (MHRC) and a Sharing Session by the NCP Alumni. The session allowed alumni, student representatives and partner universities to share their experience and success stories while expanding their circle of friends. EMGS also took the opportunity to contribute to the Australian flood disaster mission in response to the recent floods in Australia by donating to victims through MASCA and MHRC.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Mohd Radzlan Bin Jalaludin noted that Malaysia was ready to welcome more international students as the nation reopens borders fully on 1 April. He predicted, “Students will return to Australia with new insights and perspectives, having gained new networks and particularly, wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. They will find that studying in Malaysia is an unbeatable experience because of our diversity of peoples and cultures.”
