KUALA LUMPUR, 23RD JUNE 2023 – Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) is in position with Public and Private Higher Education Institutions in Malaysia to welcome more international students in Malaysia. This effort is a part of the initiatives to support the Government’s aspiration in making Malaysia a talent and knowledge hub.
A recent EMGS event, ‘EMGS AT YOUR SERVICE’, held in Kuala Lumpur, shared the company’s objectives and direction for the year 2023. The event gathered more than 200 representatives from more than 100 higher education institutions in Malaysia to promote the brand ‘Study in Malaysia’. The event showcased an overview of EMGS’ agenda and promotional activities, a presentation on the latest insights of the international student’s application numbers as well as on the international student’s visa matters. Countries like China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia continue to have the highest number of student applications to study in Malaysia.
The latest insights and analysis were also presented the previous and new target markets which now included more countries in the South African region. EMGS also targets to lead and open doors for government-to-government (G2G) cooperation with the new target countries such as scholarship opportunities. Among the highlights of the new system enhancement is that Mobility students can now apply Student Pass directly with EMGS for the Mobility programmes which are less than 3 months.
This event also gave the opportunity for the new incoming Chief Executive Officer of EMGS, Novie Tajuddin, to meet and greet with the representatives from Malaysian higher education institutions. He highlighted that the marketing initiatives which were done together with the higher education institutions are now bearing results, as the trend of the application numbers among international students is rising. He added, “The new direction for 2023 is that with the industry support and collaboration, I believe we will see, not just a rising number of student applications but at the same time, attracting quality students to come here”.
EMGS, together with Malaysia higher education institutions are ready to welcome more quality international students to pursue their higher education in Malaysia.
